Candidates Forum-- 44th Assembly District. As previously announced, a forum between the two candidates for the 44th Assembly District general election was to have been hosted by the Janesville chapter of the League Women Voters, Forward Janesville, and JATV on October 2, 2012 at 7 p.m. Although Representative Joe Knilans's office initially confirmed his willingness to participate via email on August 28th, a representative of his campaign now states that he is "overbooked" and will not appear. The forum was to have been held in the program room of Hedberg Library in Janesville.

The sponsoring organizations are disappointed not to be able to provide this forum for voters in the 44th Assembly District. A change in the time of the forum on October 2nd has been offered in order to conform to Rep. Knilans's schedule, as well an offer to hold the forum on a different date when he would be available. We are hopeful that he will provide a new time or date so that the forum may be held.
